The Chrysanthemum Ring Box is one of my most beloved and best-selling signature designs.

Designed for harmony. A striking double-ring stage for your engagement ring and wedding band.

Recently, a customer selected this exact piece to be personalized, tailoring the box to perfectly elevate the special ring he had prepared for his proposal. What makes this design resonate so deeply is its striking contrast—but achieving this harmony requires intense technical discipline.

The Delicate Gold and the Bold Stripes The centerpiece of the box is an elegant, tiny chrysanthemum motif.

Painted petal by petal using a very fine brush and genuine 24k liquid gold, the extraordinary delicacy of the flower creates a breathtaking tension against the bold, geometric black-and-white stripes below.

Working with such a petite porcelain lid presents a physical challenge: there is no space to hold it while painting. I must paint one half of the design, fire it safely in the kiln, and only then hold the finished side to complete the remaining half.

The Illusion of Perfect Lines To the human eye, the black-and-white stripes appear straight and balanced, but this is an intentional optical illusion. When the raw porcelain boxes are fired, the extreme heat causes them to slightly shrink and warp. Because no two pieces are ever mathematically identical, painting straight lines with a ruler is impossible. I must adjust and slightly distort the pattern by eye, adapting the lines to the unique curves of each individual box to achieve a flawless visual balance.

Achieving the deep, smooth black of those stripes requires profound patience. If too much color is applied at once, the paint can bubble in the kiln. To create a rich, flat finish, the black is painted in thin layers and fired at least twice.

A Stage Measured by the Millimeter The final element of contrast lies inside the box. Just as the exterior shape varies, the internal dimensions differ by millimeters after firing. A standard insert would never fit. Therefore, every single deep green velvet ring pillow is individually measured and crafted to perfectly fit its specific box.

This rich, dark green interior is beloved by customers because it provides a striking backdrop that makes a precious diamond or gemstone truly pop.
